TL;DR: - Last Friday Yahoo Finance began reporting a float on GME of 249.51M shares. Yahoo changes data depending on the IP. Seems like only USA gets censored data. Based on the forward P/E of the uncensored data, it's possible GME is anywhere between 6k to 31k per share on some dark side of the fence - but this is speculative. And "Cellar Boxing" is the game plan that might have been applied to GME, which is essentially naked shorting in an effort to drive the company out of business.

Now creditors are unwilling to accept their bonds and demanding payments made and aggressive restructuring options are being reviewed. These shockwaves would be felt in markets around the world. Either way, Evergrande is a HUGE story that most Western media is entirely oblivious too (sic). I hope they get to stay that way and never have a reason to learn their name. But there is a chance that we're currently staring down the barrel of the next financial meltdown.

Anybody on the sub yesterday surely saw a reference to a soon-to-be-published SEC report. Will it cover naked shorting on GME? Gamification? PFOF? Will it release RC to speak openly once the investigation is complete? Will it include January data only? Or more contemporary information?

Bottom line, we don't know. We can speculate, but resist the urge to decide beforehand that the report will be favorable or unfavorable. We have the DD on our side. Let's just see what they have to say, but it doesn't change our DD.

PSA - Let's talk about Stop Loss Orders for a second. It's worth the reminder.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
Imagine, if you will, that you have a couple of moon tickets, worth, no less than $69,420,000* on average (*just a lowball number for the sake of argument). Now imagine knowing how much you would be willing to sell one of those moon tickets for. And nobody knows for sure what the peak price will be.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
Ok, now imagine that you originally bought that ticket, for, say, $200. And you decide that you don't want to lose money while waiting for the voyage to begin. So you roll down your window, hang your head out of the rocket and scream to the heavens, "I don't want to lose my $200, so if the price drops below, say, $180, I'll sell it. That's what you're doing when you set a stop loss.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
Anybody with level 3 reporting access, say, an evil company who desperately needs to buy up a whole crap ton of moon tickets, can see this stop loss in the system, and potentially manipulate the price down to $179.99. That means you will sell your moon ticket for $180, lose $20, disembark, and potentially miss the trip.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|
Don't do stop losses. There's no upside.
|
||||||
|
|
||||||
|

This is an important concept to keep firmly in mind. Make sure you do your research and understand this concept. If you hit market sell, it doesn't mean you get the price on the ticker. It means you get the price that the market dictates -- if there are buy orders for $200, you might just get that price. Limit selling means that your moon tickets will not sell below a price at which you want them to sell.

If the SHFs want to price retail/and longs out of the options chain there best bet is to move the price hard and early to spike IV. This could be difficult if they can't get enough liquidity in the pre-market.

Burry tweets and rips it's been a good one with steady growth throughout the day. I definitely was looking for them to spike IV but it's possible the gamma ramp is to daunting. Tomorrow marks t+2 from the massive $200 put position that was closed last Friday so I expect we will see some action on that front. There current strategy should be to try to bleed the gamma ramp till late Wednesday or Thursday and then cover, or they are fucked and will be forced to cover after the contract expires, or I'm a complete idiot and there are no futures contracts. Longs are buying in hard at ITM strikes 140-160-190-195 all with increased OI in the last hour looks like they are gonna push their ramp even if the shorts don't want to. All the money from the gamma ramp for these last 6 weeks has been rolled out to the 17th, This is definitely showdown time!

German market took off like crazy this morning (well crazy for the German market at least) hitting a test of 195 right out of the gate. We still have a solid gap to fill up to 200. However the shorts have already borrowed around 250k shares this morning or 3.2million depending on how accurate Fidelity's data was. With IBKR showing 5k to borrow and Fidelity showing 533k. Although I checked fidelity last night and the 3.6 million additional shares seemed to have disappeared.

Let hope we see more continued action today after yesterdays 6.8%+ close. With the gamma ramp shifting up slowly as more and more calls pile in a surge in volume past 210 could really kick this off. Today we also have T+2 settlement from last Friday, In order to fight for max pain lots of puts were purchased Friday the 10th to drive the price down. This and still expected volume from futures rollover continues to give this week a lot of promise.

Weird fight right at market close for 200 with a chunk of volume coming in on the first couple ticks of the hour. Pretty much nothing today, dragged down by the market which is hitting it's 7th red day in row and while inflation was down today it was not significant. 9k volume traded so far this morning, Fidelity and IBKR with 775k available shares with ~250k borrowed this morning so far. Basically no pre-market movement if I am correct they are gonna drag this out as long as possible to relieve pressure from that ramp. I suppose their goal with t+2 is going to be to cover as slowly as possible, with the longs buying ITM calls like yesterday to push the price up however this covering could get the ball rolling.

Today is is the first day of the new supplement liquidity deposit changes. So don't forget that the DTCC says to be careful out there cause there may be margin calls. Additionally today marks IMM rollover day which is the rollover for foreign exchange traded futures. How much either of these will effect GameStop is up for debate but I suspect very little. I'm still waiting to confirm action on my thesis for futures rollovers in the next 5 trading days.

Well that slow drift up with the S&P had us closing just at the resistance of 205. There still seems to be some confusion with trading vs. settle vs. expiry on these futures rolls but\

A little borrowing going on from fidelity in the pre-market this morning looks like there are about 745k shares available between IBKR and Fidelity. GME trading a bit lower than close right now, and on track to hit 195 likely due to the market also dropping in the AM. There is a little gap to fill to the upside but it with 16k shares traded in the pre-market it looks like it will have a weak open.

So after a bunch of digging last night I sort of ended where I started on the whole furthest date out that this cycle could be defeated. It looks like 9/23 is that last possible settlement date to cover (this covers all t+2 delivery windows). While it's possible nothing happens by that date, it does not mean that futures contracts are dead in the water. It just means that they have either covered it in a way we had not predicted or they did not need more than the number of shares they received via ETF rebalancing and the ATM offer.

Another up day going into futures expiry tomorrow it is likely today represents the last day that rolling was an option. Normally I would think we are gonna close the week at max pain tomorrow with little movement but the ramp was not significantly rolled today and many more contracts were still coming in for tomorrow so at least big money is expecting moves and or forcing the shorts to let any open contracts expire. Still consolidation after falling through the EMA but holding above VWAP is goof moving into power hour. The longs still seem very committed to buy calls for tomorrow as contracts are still being opened for the 17th.
|

The SPY is coming down in premarket again so given our 7k pre-market volume on GME we may be in for another day of getting dragged around by the S&P. Looks like there are 640k shares available to borrow between IBKR and Fidelity. Even given that GME doesn't look to bad this morning hit it's low and looks like it's turning around for a test of 205 in the early part of the day.

Today is a bunch of things, quad witching, Friday, and most importantly of all the day futures contracts expire. It looks like if the intention for holders of any swaps or open futures contracts on GME were going to attempt to roll that yesterday was the last trading day to do so. While there is some confusion if today is the day they have to settle those contracts or not, whatever is open as of this morning will have to be settled by T+2 from today or Monday. With the gamma ramp still very much in place going into market open if settlement were to occur today the potential could be explosive. While quad witching's have been lackluster in the past. We have always gone into them with futures contracts rolled the week before, this cycle is currently not the same as the previous ones.

10k pre-market volume so far with three hundred thousand borrowed from Fidelity this morning and 65k available on IBKR it looks like someone is getting set up to suppress some price movement. Much of the OI on the gamma ramp at least up to 250 has not been rolled forward or closed out so if we get some momentum expect that to help accelerate it. A little volatility at market open and plenty of room to the upside to test 210 this morning. It current looks like the 217.50 - 222.50 range is going to be the hardest to cross without decent momentum.
